I think that person was sending the native file manually from the Treo to his Desktop.
The format that is local to the Treo must not be a wave file. The sending process on Treo or at the proxy must convert it to a .wav file. Thanks, Carl W. When I send a message to my computer via AventVoice it shows as a .wav file and Windows Media plays it. Am I missing something? Still, with 90% of the world's computers running Windows and 100% of those Windows machines able to play MP3, WAV and WMV files with no action required, it strikes me as an even odder choice that Palm would record voice memos on the 700p's voice recorder in a format that requires products that nobody's even heard of or ever mentioned on any Palm or music-related site I'm familiar with just to play them back. Very odd. mVoice, which I own and use, sends emails as WAV files. Not as slick as if it sent MP3s, but I guess there are issues with converting to MP3 and most voice recordings are fairly small. Anyway, it's a curious space, this voice recording. It seems so simple, and yet everyone finds ways to make it complex!!
