Today, I was unfortunately reminded of the recent thread on phone audio
quality. I had audio problems on my 600 with the interference from the
unshielded wire when battery juice dropped below about 78% or so. People I
called said there was such a loud hum on the phone that they had trouble
hearing me. I thought I had left these problems behind when I went with
the 650, however.

I called a radio station today and went on the air. I was on a Chicago
expressway, away from any infrastructure such as underpasses or bridges.

The station has a delay of several seconds, so after I hung up, I turned
the radio back up and heard the entirety of my call.

The audio from my phone was absolutely horrendous. Is the 700P any better?

This has me thinking of various options. I like the fact that the Treo is
an all-in-one solution. I'd hate to go back to carrying a PDA and phone,
and I'd also hate to go back to a virtual keyboard, or--worse--graffiti.
Having to lug around a folding keyboard would blow, too. Those laser
keyboards look intriguing, but I may not always have a flat surface. I'd
go with the OQO if it wasn't so dang expensive.

If the 700P's phone audio is better, I'd just as soon stay with a Palm OS
Treo.

Looking for any advice.
