I'm very put off by the results of that test on the ExtremeTech website. I mean the class 6 SanDisk didn't even deliver the "guaranteed" 6MB/s only 5.7 if my math is right (for once in this forum).
And here you've got a class 2 (Kingston) performing virtually as well as the best class 6 which is 11.7MB/s thatd be almost a class 12. Im beginning to think class in regards to SDHC cards is just a branding shell to charge more for less. Maybe its just flash memory. I'm used to HD specs. They are relatively predictable. For example SCSI 1, 2, 3, ultra-160 or ultra-320. With those standards you can expect the same results. Same with ATA versus SATA. Is something effecting the results that has not been considered? Could the type of PC flash reader/writer could effect performance? Anyone have any light on what is skewing the performance so much? As far as buying an 8GB class 4 or 6 card, what is to say they would follow similar results as the 4GB cards in relation to the brands. > I installed Card Reader this morning and am glad to say it works as > advertised.
