Oh, by the way: before I had my first Pilot I had an original Newton.

Man, I loved that thing! I still miss the little poof that it did when you
scrubbed something out...

Much the same path here, with the addition of a Workpad and a Treo 180
and 270 in the middle, and a 700p at the end!

My dad used to get my hand-me-downs before he died. Now my
brother-in-law gets (buys) them!!! Not sure what'll happen when I give up my
Verizon 700p for a (hopefully!) Verizon 755p, though, since he's on T-Mobile
where I used to be. I guess there's always Craigslist!

I think I remember getting a memory upgrade to the Pilot 1000 but that was a
long time ago. Maybe an upgrade from 128kb to 256kb? Amazing
that just 10 years later I paid $42 for an 8gb SD card. I love
technology! It's one of the few areas you get more for less, year after year!

Cheers,

Don

Even though he got quite a bit of stuff wrong, it's still fun!

Here's the article, with a nostalgic picture. I wish I'd kept my Pilot
(NOT Palmpilot, that came later) 1000. It would be fun to see it
again!

I had a Pilot 1000 for about 5 minutes :-)

I bought it, tried it, loved it, took it back to the store and bought a
5000 instead right away (needed that extra RAM :-) ). Then I progressed
to a III, a IIIx, IIIxe, treo 600, treo 650, and now treo 680.

And my wife has gotten my hand-me-downs along the way, plus I bought her

a Tungsten E2 at one point.

Can't say I've owned 'em all, but I've tried a bunch!
