I couldn't get it to stay put in my Expedition.

I use the three-legged RAM base (http://www.gpscity. <http://www.gpscity.com/ram-279-non-skid-base.htm> com/ram-279-non-skid-base.htm) On the base you put the desired ball mount, a verticle arm, and the desired holder for your GPS/Treo. Caveat: it says the base in non-skid, and it is, sort of. If you have a car with a sloped cowling over the drivers instrument cluster, you might want to think about gluing down some Velcro. The good part is on a flat surface, it's pretty skid-proof. And the three legs are rubber over lead, meaning it's heavy to help keep it in place, and bendable to match wherever you want to mount it. I keep mine normally in the indent-tray in the middle of my Cherokee dash, but I can easily move it to the mini-van when we take that tripping. And, speaking of bikes, etc., I bought another set of clamps to mount the Garmin 60c on my bicycle -- (and of course, since the 60C is a handheld, I can carry it when I'm hiking.
