Palm has taken over Chattermail and Opera. Are they going to come out with new ROM or something for their existing customers? What about the Treo 680 customers? When they change to Linux base, what will happen to the Garnet - 5.4.9? Upgrade to Opera and Chattermail or something? Does anyone have any clue?

That's pretty much my observation as well. I use Versamail more than I used to now that I'm on hosted Exchange, and apart from the plain text format if what it sends, I'm reasonably pleased with it. I got to make fun of my Blackberry enabled friends this week, too! I hope that now that Palm owns Chatteremail it can integrate even more features into Versamail - maybe rename it PalmMail, or TreoMail or something better. I must admit that now that I've had a taste of real-time push email on my Treo it would be difficult to go back to just doing email on my laptop. A strange outage in Comcast somewhere in Pennsylvania prevented me from accessing my email last night (I'm in New England, my email is on a hosted domain in Pittsburgh). So I used Versamail to check for anything I needed to respond to. And it really wasn't that bad. I don't like the way Versamail formatted my replies, but that's another issue. :) (BTW, I don't need recommendations for an alternate email client, I don't do this often enough to make buying a different/better one worthwhile.) -- Jeffrey Kaplan www.gordol.org The from userid is killfiled Send personal mail to gordol Tips for the Innocent Bystander: 39.
