Scott, why do you even have to be "loyal" to a company? I find the whole idea a bit silly. I don't consider myself "loyal" to Palm, however, my Treo suits my needs currently. If something better comes along, no matter who makes it, I'll look at it. I wouldn't expect anyone to avoid looking at other products for some notion that one has to be loyal to a company's products. That's what capitalism is supposed to be about, right? If everyone were loyal to some company based on something other than what matters - that they make products they want to buy - then we would hardly have very good products at all! There wouldn't be incentive for companies to make better products than others because they could instead just count on their "loyal" customers. :-) In other words, I think you're taking this a bit personally. You should never commit yourself to a product or company and deprive yourself the ability to look elsewhere at any time for products that may suit you better. Doing so, it seems, may have caused some resentment in you towards Palm, although they never specifically asked for our devotion nor promised anything in return... No. I'm just growing weary. I'm no longer willing to be loyal to Palm, just for the sake of it being Palm. I've been a Palm customer for years, but if a company wants my loyalty, it needs to keep up. So next year, I'll start looking at other options besides the Palm OS. I may end up sticking with Palm because all the other options are poor, but Palm no longer has a guaranteed customer.
