I have a treo 650, and win xp pro. During my palm tenure...many years, have gone thru periods of hotsynch probs... always have been hard to diagnose. I have noted in the past, that if something interrupts my computing for a time, synching is likely to fail.
In this case, I had a flood in my house, and had to move my computer gear for a month. No damage to it...just moved, then put back. While reassembling everything, took advantage to simplify, and catch up on some software installs, updates, etc. And the system got bog slow. Now, using msconfig diagnostic startup, am experimenting with killing many startup services, drivers, etc. System boots and runs much faster now. Tried hot synch yesterday. Hotsynch.exe IS running, and when I press the hotsynch icon on the treo, I get the chime sound from the pc, but nothing more happens. Any ideas? I am thinking that there may be some OTHER service that hotsynch.exe is dependent on that I may have turned off. TIA Mike -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users.
