About $20.
When I wanted to upgrade from the 650 to 680, the store folks
pointed out the only way I'd get the rebate was to also upgrade from the
$19.99 unlimited data (MediaNet) plan to the $39.99 unlimited data. They
said the $20 plan is for smartphones, and would not give me access to
more than a limited selection of web sites. The $40 plan is for PDAs and
would give me access to all web sites.
No matter that Palm thinks the Treo is a smartphone, and in fact
even Cingular lists it online as a smartphone, for billing purposes,
it's a PDA, and somehow I was given a plan I should not have been.
I'm able to get all the web sites I want (I don't use Web much, but
I've never found a site I can't visit), and all my IM and email. The
plan is called Media Max Bundle, and it's a combination unlimited data
(Media Max Unlimited) with 200 text messages (Media Max 200 Messages) a
month -- the latter which for me is tantamount to unlimited.
