In my experience this means that you have some leftover stuff either in memory or on your expansion card that D2G can't handle. Remove the program completely and start over. Be sure to look through the folders on the card (assuming you have one) and get rid of anything related to D2G there too. At least, that's what I had to do in a similar situation!
