OTOH, I have only 12 months left on the contract. Since it's a family plan my participation in it is only "costing" me $10/month, and I believe I can reduce the plan to a lesser plan at any time, more than making up the difference. So, really, I don't have to break the contract if my kids are staying on Verizon (which I think they are). Even if I don't reduce the minutes, the next 12 months only "cost" me $120. Breaking the contract would cost $175.
I have been told (by Sprint) that Sprint is not so forgiving. Reducing the contract requires renewing it for 2 years. Breaking the contract is difficult. Then again I grew up with a lawyer for a father, and if a cellular provider provides crap service, there's the matter of consideration which is required for a contract to be valid. I'd love to do battle with a cellular carrier. I doubt they'd love to do battle with me. Let's hope it doesn't ever come to that. For now, I don't really need to break the Verizon contract, and Sprint is, so far, excellent. Don's initial journey with Sprint and the 755p Hi Roger, I will, if I end up keeping this Sprint device. Signs are that I will. After constant calls to them since last October and having my 700p replaced 4 - count 'em 4! - times, I believe they will let me out of my contract. Given that they'll still have both my kids on my original family plan, I think they'll just go along. Drawback? The kids will be on Verizon and I'll be on Sprint - no more free calls! Too bad everyone doesn't have Fave Five like T-Mobile!
