PDANet should work with your existing MediaNet account. It just arranges things so that your computer is using your treo's data network.
One issue is that the MediaNet accounts don't allow you to use VPN software to log into corporate extranets (at least it doesn't work with mine), so if you need that, then PDANet wouldn't do you any good. Of course, many hotels have internet configurations that make VPN access difficult or impossible as well, but that's besides the point... The other thing to consider is that some of the carriers expressly forbid the use of the treo as a "data modem", the way PDAnet does it, unless you play extra. I don't know if Cingular/ATT have that restriction, but I'm pretty sure it's an issue with Sprint. So if they don't want you to do it, and they catch you at it, they could either charge you or shut down your internet service. Sam john.messeder wrote: > I went away for a conference this weekend.
