It's not weird, it's ridiculous! How is the Treo different from a Windows Mobile device or a Blackberry these days? We can quibble about which is better, but they all do basically the same things. This is one of the arbitrary/marketing-driven things that I really hate about cell phone companies. It's akin to Tmobile locking down the Sidekick because it was only supposed to be a just cool device for high school and college students who only cared about ringtones and games. The Treo, in spite of what Palm has written on the box, is not, according to our local company store and the customer service rep I called about it, is not a Smartphone, it's a PDA.
