BTW, I solved this by doing a full restore from backup to a Hard Reset 
device, without all Bluetooth files deselected. I had thought that 
simply deleting my Trusted Devices file would be sufficient. It wasn't. 
One of the other two files was the culprit. I imagine it was the 
Bluetooth Device Cache.
