My 650 GSM is way better than my 600. Both of my units have problems
with the headphoen jack that don't seem to be curable with
software--neither VolumeCare nor HeadCold nor Freedom.

I'm beginning to think that I ought to have my 650 repaired by Palm
for $191 and hope it keeps going for another 1-2 years rather than pay
$400 for a new 680 that seems to have some undesirable compromises,
namely poor battery life. In the interim the direction of continued
development of Palm OS smartphones might be clarified enough so that
an investment in a new unit later would make more sense.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?
