I would try a Sprint store before the trip. Let them know what is happening. My did the same thing exactly, I would have used an app at night. In the morning it would be gone, I would think it strange but just restore from backup on card and move on.
Later that day, something else would be gone. Finally I was trying pair my Bluetooth device and it reset and froose forever at the Palm/Access logo screen.
