Sprint Introduces Airave To Help Weak Reception

updated Sprint will begin offering a new femtocell device to help improve
reception in homes to subscribers in Denver and Indianapolis. The Airave is a
small box users plug into their home broadband connection that will cover an
area of approximately 5000 square feet. Unlike T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home, the
Airave uses femtocell technology to extend regular cellular coverage, so users
do not need to buy a new handset to use it. The Airave will cost $50 and Sprint
will charge an additional service fee of $15 per month for individuals or $30
for families, which includes unlimited calling from the Airave. Up to 3 people
can make calls from an Airave at once. The device is made by Samsung and was
shown off at CTIA as the "UbiCell".
