Chattermail is set up to do push email (like on the BB). All you need is an IMAP client. As the last 2 days worth of email exchanges on this list have pointed out, gmail now supports IMAP, so if it also supports IDLE you'll be able to get push email on Chatter. Otherwise I would suggest fastmail.fm or any of the hundred other IMAP servers available.
