I would NEVER buy an application if I could test it first - that I needed
service does not mean I am stupid. This is another reason I stopped doing
business with Handango - many of their titles had no trial version. The
first time I had problems was Blazer (no trial version) I'd bought for my
Palm Tungsten. It was listed as a compabitable device for this application
but failed to work. I tried everything - including a hard reset - but it
would not work. It took me almost a month to get a refund, during which
time I was talked down to repeatedly and by more than one person. The last
time I did business with them was to purchase a Fodor's city guide; they had
a NYC guide as a trial but I was going to New Orleans. I only used the
guide twice - and even then it did not provide me with any useful
information. Once again, I was harassed when I requested a refund because
"there was a trial version". I explained repeatedly that was for NYC not
New Orleans; Handango actually went so far as to *change* the available
trial version after I requested my refund, but I had taken a screen shot
prior to purchasing the New Orleans guide showing the trial version was only
available for New York. Facts didn't seem to matter to them, and I was only
able to get my money back through my credit card company.

I have seen numerous complaints about Handango so I know my experience is
not unique. That you have never had to request a refund is good luck for
you and hopefully you will continue to be lucky and never need to do
anything but give Handango money. I certainly wouldn't expect anything in
return from them - like support.

And I buy all my software from them... Never had one problem.
Probably because I always try my software before I buy...

Why do I ever need to request a refund?

Unless Handango has changed dramatically (been sold, got rid of all upper
management, completely retrained their staff to treat customers like human
beings and changed their customer service policies), they could not pay me
to do business with them. I'm not the only person who has had serious
issues with their failure of customer service (including serious
difficulties getting refunds for mis-advertised software). If I only had
one bad experience I wouldn't say anything, but on three different
occassions I was treated like a criminal by their 'customer service' and
refuse to ever do business with them again. I have commented to developers
who make their software only available through Handango (which is
thankfully
very few) that I will not buy it that way.

 Just my $0.02..

Boo from Handango!Handango is having a special right now for 20% off using
the code 'HALLOWEEN'. It's good thru Nov 4th. I am not affiliated with
them,
I just got an email from them and thought some of you might be interested.
