My Treo 680 has a crappy speaker so speakerphone capability is horrible. Lots of feedback if you turn it up loud.
But my Blackberry 8820 has a perfect speakerphone capability. The Centro is as loud as my son's Moto Razr, which is good. In general on these devices I find all of the maximum volume settings to be too quiet: the headset volume, the speakerphone volume, Bluetooth volume -- all max out at too quiet a setting. Lawyers and insurance companies are running things, though, so God forbid we should be allowed to blow out our own hearing if we want to!! Or, it could be an issue with the size/quality of the speakers being used. It's loud, crisp, and sounds great. I did not have a Treo (after my Clie I jumped over to PPC-big mistake!) so I don't know what the previous speakerphone issues were. I would guess that the Centro is manufactured by some other entity. . . Yahoo!
