It's a Sprint thing and I don't believe there is any way to turn it off. On the 755p it was annoying because there was a slight lag between the first display of the dialog box and when you could hit the center button to dismiss it. On the Centro I can hit the center button immediately to dismiss it, so it's less annoying.
