It doesn't take much time at all. The only backup that takes time is the one I 
do at the end of the day, to a second card. All others are incremental 
backups that take place in an automated fashion, when I'm not entering any 
data. And if a backup is about to begin when I *am* using the device, I can 
press the Abort button on the screen.
