Hi all,
This has bugged me for some time, so I thought I'd see what others think/do. I have used D2G for years, most recently the free version that came on the Centro. I keep a small set of documents on my device, stored on the (now)microSD card. These documents are sync'd with my laptop. Here's the problem: I change laptops quite frequently. When I do, I have a fresh, new installation of the Desktop and D2G. Trouble is, the sync relationship between the documents on the (microSD) card and those same documents on the (new) laptop is lost. My solution to this has been to keep a folder called Palm Sync Files on my laptop and just sync those with D2G. And yes, for those of you who are astute followers of the Dark Side, I borrowed this solution from ActiveSync. Whatever did Dataviz think someone who didn't adopt this strategy, though, and, sync'd, say 100 documents from all over the Documents (or in XP My Documents) folder, would do when changing computers? Look on the Palm device and one by one locate each document on the computer and reestablish the sync relationship? That's too awful to contemplate. What if I sync'd 1000 documents? I don't even like having to do it with my one-folder solution. Is there a smart way to handle this? I guess there might be some sort of exportable sync profile in D2G that I haven't seen, and that could handle the transition to a new computer. Cheers, Don [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
