Well, I actually saw it go from green to red in about 2 hours one night. Some 
times it takes a few more hours than that. I've woken in the middle of the 
night to see it glowing red, after seeing it green before dozing off. The 
8-10 hours rule is just to make sure the problem arises. I never know how 
long it was actually red, apparently sitting at 99% the entire time.
