I just had my trusty leather 680 case (sold as "AT&T") with a belt
clip that was spring-loaded (i.e., very firm grasp) come apart on me
after about a year and a half of fine functioning. It became caught
on my car door handle as I was getting out and just pulled the whole
clip assembly off the case so looks unrepairable. I bought the best
replacement I could find at the local ATT store but they only had a
side-mounted case (prior was upright) with a non-spring-loaded clip
(just leather-covered bent metal) that promptly fell of my scrub
pants at work yesterday two times, fortunately without apparently
damaging the Treo. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a
sturdy case, easily accessible to the phone, that has a very firmly-
grasping, probably spring-loaded, belt clip? The problem seems to be
with latching it onto a pair of thin scrub pants which I wear at work
every day which only has the pant material plus a thin fabric rope-
tie (i.e., "belt") - very little to grasp. Wearing it on a regular
belt has rarely been a problem as far as it coming off the belt.
Many thanks
Dick
P.S. My 680 has the thicker Seidio extended life 2400 MAh battery
installed.
