Butler, which isn't free, will do the same thing. In fact, I use it that way often. Press the red button (or any of the four hard buttons) to wake up the Treo and the time displays in the center. There are some other things (date, pending alerts, etc.) you also may display, and you can choose font size and color to make them seeable. As with KeyGuardTime+, you need to press the center button to actually unlock the Treo, so that one-button press is convenient for just checking the time.
