You pretty much have it figured out. MS apps, especially
email ones, have an absolute hissy fit if you ignore them
when they're trying to "help" you "set things up".


I suggest doing a search in Google for the exact text
of the error string, enclosed in quotation marks.
That will get you a few dozen possibilities; read through
those and try the least risky-sounding. Here's one
