[Treo] Charging a treo 680

I sometimes like to charge my treo over night using the wall charger
but it seems to overcharge and drop after some time. Does this hurt
the battery life in the long run? The usb charge is slow and
deliberate but it has never reached 99.99% and then go down. Thanks
