Don't do it. Changing the hotsync name is a major p.i.t.a. I actually did it for the upgrade from my T|X to my Treo 755p back in December, because I erroneously believed my hotsync set-up, which dated all the way back to my Tungsten T|2, more than 4 years ago at the time, would have so much 'stale' information that I would be sorry.
It was a much bigger annoyance to contact every single software vendor (many of whom no longer exist) to try to get new license keys for the new hotsync ID. The fact is, I could still be using the first hotsync ID I used with my Palm III, not my 4th, as I am now. Never again. Harold [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
