Heheh, don't worry, I know a lot of people who have your attitude and I definitely share your concerns. I don't think these problems are going to go away overnight either, but I do think that in 5 or 10 years they will diminish markedly. Even if the makers of the phones and OS's don't build some things in, we are already seeing users becoming active in creating their own solutions. Those solutions aren't always elegant but they do the trick. I'm not saying you shouldn't worry about these things because I think your voice in addition to others like you will push Palm towards offering a microSD slot in the Pre or at least their next phone after that, or barring that at least to provide other means to do the things that don't quite have an easy equivelent in non-external-memory land. One of these things may be getting Sprint to budge a bit on their bandwidth limits, who knows. None of this is guarenteed and I for one am no longer at a point where I can afford to invest in new technology without it maturing enough to where I know I'm not going to have to give up something significant to play with it, so I for one am not going to rush out and buy a Pre when it comes out. My WM device does everything I want and more. Sure there are things that I'd like to see better implemented, and I've needed to install lots of tweaks along the way, but the Pre doesn't really offer me any big advantage over what I'm using now other than, like the iPhone, a snazzier interface. I have about 1.5 years left on my contract, so that's more of a target date for me, and to be honest I am really going to be looking more this year at some of the new HTC offerings which will have much larger displays and resolution than my HTC Touch Pro, but are otherwise pretty similar.

At my age, all of this talk reminds me of visions of the future, a la the 1964-1965 NY World's Fair. To me, it sounds like, I don't have to worry about this right-now, real-world problem because someone will solve it and make it available and affordable to me. It's a bitch getting old and skeptical. ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
