No need to apologise, really. In fact, now that you've proven yourself a true gentleman, I'll pay a lot of attention to your posts!
Case in point: evaluating the Pre as a completely new device. I was blissfully unaware of that until you mentioned it, but you are completely correct. This is NOT a Palm, in the sense that we've known them for the past decade. Not even close. I was gob-smacked when I realised that, to all intents and purposes, this could be ANY platform. I mean, the specs could easily be describing a Blackberry, Symbian, Andriod or something completely new! There's just nothing there to take me back to the Palm we know and....well, you know what I mean. Still, it bears the Palm name, and that was enough for all of us to stick around this long, pay so much attention to it once it was unveiled, and trust that the promises will be fulfilled. Brilliant presentation notwithstanding, we still have a serious -albeit perhaps subconscious- regard for the brand. And yes, after the honeymoon is over, I will probably shed a tear for the user interface of my old Pilot 5000. Cheers, Eugenio Harry C.
