This one! The link to the bulk email importer is in #3, below. For
$8/month, I'd keep Exchange until Google Apps catches up. At the rate
they're going, I'd think GA will be a huge threat to hosted Exchange (and
even local Exchange) within a year. Pay the $100 for Exchange for that year
(www.123together.com) and THEN go to GA if/when it's ready.

Hi Levi,

I assume you have Google Apps set up with your domain?

To capture all of your email:

1. Export your Exchange mailbox into a local PST file.

2. Find that file and your archive.

3. Use this to upload to Gmail:
http://code.google.com/p/google-email-uploader/

The integration isn't nearly as good with Google Apps as it is with
Exchange. You might think about just keeping an $8/month mailbox - it's not
THAT much more than free!

Fun toys, any way you go!

Cheers,

Don

Subject: [Treo] Switching from Exchange to Gmail/Google Calendar

So one of my justifications in paying a slightly higher price for the
monthly fee for the Pre was that I could get rid of my exchange account. I'm
now syncing my calendar with my Google Calendar account and am about to
start syncing contacts.

I also have hooked up my Gmail account to my Pre, but I currently don't use
that for email. I've tested it out though and I get notified immediately
(Push). So here are a couple of questions for those of you in the same boat:

a) I figure I'll point my mail servers and Gmail's so that I can get my
regular (currently gotten through a hosted exchange service) email through
Gmail. Any tips making the switch that will make it a seemless one?

b) I have lots of email going back years in my Exchange account and going
back even more years archived in a separate outlook pst file that I can
access in Outlook but that is not synched to the hosted exchange service. Is
there any way I can get any of this email into Gmail, or will I just have to
start completely fresh and only be able to search my archives on my home PC
in Outlook? I thought I could finally once and for all retire it, but maybe
not!

Levi
