Google Apps gives you the Gmail interface and function paired with your own domain name. So since you own dvdmon.com, you could have addresses in that domain, but all the function of Gmail instead of those provided by a domain host, web host or ISP.
The Standard Edition is free. 7gb of space and no direct technical support. You can pay $50/address/year for Premium Edition (or if you are a non-profit or school it's called the Education Edition) - 25gb of space and email and phone tech support. Still not even close to Exchange, but getting better all the time! I can access Gmail via the Pre and it has push, it also pushes calendar entries and contacts. It basically gives me everything but tasks and notes, which I don't use anyway... Plus it's free and Google Apps now costs money, yes?
