You get what you pay for, I guess. We use Yahoo groups for my kids' school (charter school) and we've looked for something better that offers equivalent function at anything like a reasonable price - haven't found it. Actually, we did finally find something, but it's part of our new web hosting package so that solution is not generally applicable.
I guess for all the function we get for free we just have to put up with the fact that every now and then the Yahoo servers will just start taking hours to deliver stuff!
