A centro battery that has power appears to work fine. I had to charge a nearly
dead one in the Centro: on the Pre I just got an icon even though it was
connected and charging. At the Sprint class I went to the tech people looked
at me like I was insane for trying the Centro battery. Supposedly need a
special car charger and home charger too.

I bet the Pre's is exactly the same, or close enough to be totally swappable.
