An update: I noticed that a picture I took of a friend (with the Pre) showed up VERY clear when I assigned it to her. That got me looking a bit deeper. Here's what I've come to so far: If you use a picture that is 1520x2032 (the resolution of the Pre's camera) and have the part of the picture you want to show up when a call happens (the face, or the business logo) be approximately 800x800 of that 1520x2032 picture, it will work VERY well! Getting that done is somewhat complicated, and I haven't figured out yet how to simplify it. What I'd like is a way to outline part of a picture that I want, and say "Scale the whole picture so this part is 800x800". Then I could just crop or fill the rest of the thing to 1520x2032 and I'd be done. As it is, I sort of have to eyeball it and come close. I have callerid pictures in Outlook which transfered down the BlackBerry for picture callerid. I was happy to see that these same pictures transfer down to the Pre for callerid, but even though the pics are 320x320, they still show up fuzzy. Anybody have perspective on that? I'll probably try to intuit what the optimal dimensions and resolution of a Pre callerid picture are to see if they can be cleared up, but thought I'd ask in case anyone has done it already, or has any perspective on this!
