Not as complicated as you think if I am reading your question correctly. That is, you are not using your gmail address for sending, and you only have one "real" account. If that is the case, just configure your real information for outgoing (smtp) and your real address in the first screen of the versamail new account wizard. Others are correct that versamail doesn't do multiple identities for a single account, but if you only need a single identity, use your real identity.
