Sorry, can't answer your q, but I have a q for you - why do you do that? Is it
so you won't accidentally erase something? Wouldn't the swipe to delete patch
alleviate that most of the time? Seems like you're almost making gmail into a
pop interface - hey maybe that's your 'solution' ! Set gmail to pop access and
all your deletions on the phone won't matter...
