I took the phone back to the store and got another one. He was happy to
say that if I did a Full Erase and it still didn't work, it was
hardware. I think he was hoping I'd be unhappy enough that I'd switch to
the Hero. I said No, I like the WebOS a lot -- as long as the things
that are critical to me work. So I've got a new Pre.
Fired it up, logged into Google and downloaded 1751 contacts. So
a) it worked, and b) it downloaded All Contacts rather than My Contacts,
which if just fine with me.
The guys said to use it til it dies if I want, but charge a full
three hours once I plug it in the first time. So rather than run it
down, I'll wait til this evening to do anything more, such as install
the 1.3 update.
