Actually that makes sense.  I didn't realize you were runint 1.0.x when
first trying to install Evernote.  I think probably the app catalog has some
kind of version filter and each app will specify what versions its
compatible with.  I know that the most recent version of Evernote takes
advantage of functionality that showed up in the Fall (can't remember the
exact version) which allows for direct photo uploads, whereas in 1.0 that
functionality was not available, so it would make sense that the version
that's available in the app catalog now wouldn't work (and thus maybe
wouldn't even show up) if you only had 1.0.x...
