Actually, I was about to add some comments simar to yours:

#1: Palm really neads to add a component to their UI/SDK that allows for
marking multiple items for action of some kind.  This is important for email as
mentioned below, but for me its more important for pictures (uploading).
Having to do the same thing many times when lots of time and keypresses could
be saved seems like a no-brainer.

#2: While the Launchpad/ribbon is a nice feature, the lack of being able to
customize it is not good.  In general I feel like app management (both in terms
of what's running and also what you might want to run - eg favorites, etc.)
needs some work.  A task manager?  Minimizing?  Certainly more than  four
launcher pages, or better yet maybe no pages at all but a large seemless area
one can swipe around (like Android)?  Also more freedom in how to arrange icons
on a page (no auto-arrange) or even running cards (not all in just one row)?
Mainly I'd like quick access to stuff that's running and quick access to
commonly used apps.  I suppose I could create a favorites page in the launcher,
but I'd rather do it with another facility, unless we can get 'shortcuts'
(which would be nice because I find lots of apps don't just fit into one
category).

3. Ability to select multiple email messages and perform actions on them,

4. Landscape view for email.

5. More than 4 apps on the quick launch ribbon.

6. Self-timer for the camera.

7. Allow picture messages to be sent when in wi-fi mode.

8. Enable quicker delete of calendar items. (Currently it takes 4 clicks.)

9. Expand universal search to include full text of all records, not just

name & phone number fields. Should include address and notes fields.

10. Ability to jump to "top of page" or "end of page" in emails, web pages,

and when viewing long list of records (e.g., inbox, or memos).

11. Group email addressing capability.

12. Ability to create and edit Word and Excel docs.

13. Improved editing capability (including highlighting text,

cut/copy/paste)

Subject: [Treo] webOS suggestions for Palm - "official" nomination thread

As some of you may know, I've been a Real Reviewer for Palm since last

June. Part of my role is to provide feedback to Palm about the device

I'm using (a Pre), but I'd like to assemble your suggestions and

gripes in a succinct list for them. So, to help me help you, here's

what I'd like you to do:

* Reply to this thread, putting your reply ON TOP, with a succinct

list of up to 10 of your (personally) most needed improvements to

webOS and/or the webOS device you're currently using.

* Please don't write a long explanation, as I won't be able to pass

that on; brief is good.

* If you agree with someone else's suggestion, copy and paste that

into your list as well; please do not make this a discussion thread

(don't reply to someone else's reply) as I won't be able to parse

through all that and may miss your important suggestion.

I'll send them my compilation (which I'll also post back to this list)

over the weekend, so please try to reply by midnight your time Friday.

 Thanks.

- Craig
