I'm a little hard to follow sometimes. My main overall complaint with
the Pre is that it's not entirely intuitive. But then I have to admit
it's my problem, not the Pre's (well, mostly).
The more I learn to use this thing, the more I like it. One thing
I've long wanted was ability to upgrade the OS. Couldn't do that with
PalmOS or WinMob -- well, you sort of could, if you were willing to
reflash the ROM, which is the kind of thing I no longer really enjoy
getting into. I don't want to forge a knife; I want to pick one up and
start filleting fish or skinning critters or chunking fruit. Friends
have long marveled (well, that's what I call it) the way I hunted
caribou and rabbits with the same pistol, carve an apple and butcher a
hog with the same knife.
That's a little like updating the OS and installing patches.
Finally I've got the ability to use one device to do the things I need
done. Well, at least there's the promise that the things so far missing
will come.
