I haven't noticed any issues with page transitions. Prior to 1.4 it would
sometimes get sluggish, but so far haven't had that with 1.4, but it's early
and it wasn't a regular ocurrence even before 1.4.

The patch does not work. But they are supposed to be updating the ones that
don't work as time allows.

I initially thought it might be in the videos app, but it makes sense that
it isn't. You've never been able to access the camera through the pictures
app, although maybe that is also a deficiency in your eyes. I suppose it
would be fine to allow this, but seems like a bit superfluous at least for
me - I almost never opened the pictures app, just the camera. I knew I
could get to the pictures via the camera if I needed to...

Yeah, this would have been nice. The other big guys have this as well and
so you can use them for recording podcasts. If Palm wants to compete, this
should be added to the list, albeit not top priority of course.

That's the whole point. It's about the perception. I think I've looked at
a friend's iPhone a handful of times and so don't really remember, but heard
somewhere that they do something similar with apps loading. I do appreciate
it because previously it was unclear sometimes that the icon was even
successfully activated. I did have one instance when I tried to load the
calendar and the card sat there glowing on and off for quire a while. I
finally swiped it away and hit the icon again at which point the calendar
came up within seconds. So I guess it's not a fullproof solution, but it
does make it seem like the Pre is loading things faster even if that's not
exactly true - although I do think people have noted that in general apps
and web pages, etc. load faster.
