No URLs in mine, but still stuck. This is the "you get what you pay for" side of Yahoo Groups . . . Happens regularly, bur mercifully infrequently.

I think URLs in sigs are causing some of this. On Mar 17, 2010 5:44 PM, Don Ferguson <[email protected] <mailto:don%40ferguson.us> > wrote: Um. Reputation and longevity take care of some of that. But as a baseline I need to see in writing (granted, this itself is somewhat of an act of faith) that the provider encrypts data using a key that only I have. Not just SSL encryption during transport, but encryption on their servers. Services like Google Docs (which a few clients were using to keep their passwords, PINs, account numbers, etc.) that don't make any claim of encryption have to be ruled out for this purpose from the beginning. Services that provide a mechanism to encrypt/decrypt the data at least have the infrastructure in place, even if they then "cheat". My hope then has to be that legitimate companies wouldn't want to risk their reputation and future if they got caught cheating. Bernie Madoff, I suppose, proved that this is only partial protection! Six different PCs, really? If I did that, I think I would use a portable drive to keep my stuff, or something like Mesh, or a capability of my chosen "cloud backup" tool, JungleDisk, called Sync folders, to keep it all in sync. Oh, and yes, my kids' English teachers (college and high school) all say 1 space after a period is the correct form now. You can tell when *I* learned to type, eh? Miss Pope, my 7th grade typing teacher, drilled the double space into my head!! Gotta have a little trust for any of this stuff to work. Otherwise, you hafta go back to your Dayrunner.
