Jim,

The only things keeping me from getting a iPad today is the 3G is not out
(aside from wife telling me I don't need or can afford one), that I have a Gen
1 iPod Touch, and a Palm Pre.

True, the Palm Pre has done wonders (I do have Exchange) and Gmail works pretty
much like Exchange for my personal mail. The Unified inbox is fantasic.

I switch between the iPod and Pre to balance the battery usage.

Since my employer pays for my USB aircard, I want to get the 3G iPad but ugrade
my USB card to a MiFi device so I can use it with my laptop, ipod, iPad and
videophone (with Cradlepoint). I don't need the AT& Service yet, but rather
have the option than not.

Ditto...and I too have changed how I work, read news, socialize etc... ever
since I've gotten my Pre. I very rarely use our laptop and desktop at home
anymore.

And if my IT department lets me add Exchange to my Pre, it will further change
how I work.

Interesting, Carl, but I disagree. Anything I have to have a special

container for (i.e., other than my pants pocket) is not truly mobile.

But that's me...I have higher expectations of my technology than most

people do.
