Pre Plus...it's been great. The extra RAM and the 16 gb is great... I have 8 gb
of music and it's nice knowing that I still lots of room for apps and pics etc.

I also like not having the center button.

Keyboard slider has been fine.

However, there is one major frustration...the d*mn keyboard double and missed
letters bug. I don't believe it is hardware related...it seems more software
related to me. And that is why I wonder if that is why VZW hasn't updated us to
1.4.1 yet...they are trying to find a fix before they release it. (Or perhaps
1.4.1 makes the bug even worse, and that's why they haven't pushed it out yet.)

PalmOS under the covers was garbage, but the *feature set* they added to it,

and we liked, that they have not yet added to WebOS, is one of the two

biggest problems, along with crappy hardware.

Actually, every time I criticize the hardware I have to remember that I have

the Pre, not the Pre+.

Pre+ users: how do YOU feel about the hardware, after using it for awhile?

In the 3 days I had one, I actually thought it was quite good, but that's

only 3 days!

Cheers,

Don

That was because Palm OS was garbage and the Treo hardware was excellent.

Now, however, Palm's webOS is excellent and its hardware is garbage.

So it needs to make more devices with webOS, not more Pres with

different OSes.

Palm has a history of defining an industry and then letting things slip

away, and then doing it all again.  While it COULD be that this is the end

for Palm (just as it COULD be that RIM is about to go out of business, or

Toyota, or *any* company), it just seems like the tech media loves to find

someone to dump on, and all too often it’s been Palm.

Perhaps they like it like that!

a group in two areas:  1) adding back in the things the Treo/Centro could
do

that WebOS still can’t and 2) dramatically upping the hardware build quality

for non-Verizon users.  If, *suddenly*, Palm released a Pre Plus Plus that

was as solid as the HTC hardware (hmmmmmmmmmm), with Sprint kicking in

tethering for free, and all the little touches that they seem to be ignoring

that they *already did* in the Treo/Centro (and about which I’ve

complained), I would probably close my ear to the siren song of the Evo.

The “new” Palm seemed headed in the right direction at first, with
frequent

incremental improvements that filled in the holes.  Some of the holes are

still there, though, and so it starts to feel a little like Microsoft who

has some issues still in Outlook that date back to the late 1990’s, or the

old Palm that rested on its laurels (what are laurels, anyway – must look

that up) until RIM and Apple and Android took the market completely (in the

US, of course; still don’t understand the rest of the world’s fascination

with Symbian and Nokia).
