I guess I'm the guy who started the ruckus. It certainly wasn't my 
plan. I was merely thinking about the number of times we've all seen 
some piece of hardware we've had to replace because the new software 
either wouldn't run on the old equipment, or at least wouldn't run as 
well because it was written to take advantage of newer hardware specs. 
In some cases, the hardware/software has been specifically designed to 
work together.
      But I haven't heard that a new Pre would be required to get webOS v2.x
      OTOH, it is a shame that so many new and sometimes wonderful 
things are happening for iPhone and Android, and somehow "there's an app 
for that" seems to leave out webOS. So I'd be thinking HP needs to make 
something happen sooner rather than later.
