I use an external SATA-to-USB cable when doing things like checking drives on my Linux PC. You can get one of these adapters from Amazon for $6.35 + $2 ship to adapt the Dell form factor to SATA: https://smile.amazon.com/Adapter-2-5in-Converter-Solid-Drives/dp/B098JNTMYL/ - sgh On 10/10/21 18:05, The MacDougals via TriEmbed wrote: My laptop crashed. It says no hard drive detected. This is a Dell Inspiron 7370 laptop with an internal SSD. Sata M.2 256GB. Here is a listing on Ebay for a used one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333979414069 Does anyone have one of these (or compatible form factor) that I could try putting into my machine to try to determine if it is the drive or the motherboard that has failed? Any other ideas? ---> Paul -- Scott G. Hall Raleigh, NC, USA [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Never say "How stupid can that person be?" Some people take that as a challenge!
