Can you run just a plain 'ol ifconfig as root and put that info in an e-mail? I'm curious to see the state of eth0 and eth1.

can't cut and past cause no public interface but ifconfig does not see eth0 at all it sees eth1 with internal IP of 192.168.1.1, and always the standard loopback,

Sharing

What happens if you run "ifup eth0" to bring

up the eth0 interface

"manually"?

if eth0 failed
tried restarting network always brings up eth1
but not eth0

goto Mandrake
Control Center and click Internet

connection sharing and
go through the steps, download the needed

eth1 as the LAN interface. All seems well

until it
finishes configuring. At this point my

eth0 (Internet if)
goes down. No light on the card or the

network start will not bring up external

interface.
ifconfig does not show external but does

show the
internal. What file(s) does the Internet

use so maybe I can look at to see anything

that stands
out? Or can someone help?
Thanks in advance,
