I am getting the following error in my system log: "kernel: i8253 countI turned up a couple of things from googling, that would seem to indicate it's a kernel bug.
too high! resetting..". I really do not know what this means. I searched

I can't say for sure that this stuff applies to what you're seeing, but it sure sounds like the same problem.
